Families and wildlife enthusiasts are invited to celebrate Britain’s magnificent birds of prey when British Bird of Prey Day returns to Bath on Saturday 15 August.
Hosted by the The Bird of Prey Project at Newton St Loe, the annual event brings together conservationists, bird lovers and families for a day dedicated to Britain’s native birds of prey and the habitats they depend upon.

Running from 10am to 4pm, the event will feature a packed programme of talks, wildlife walks, flying displays and hands-on activities designed to inspire visitors of all ages.
Among the guest speakers will be Naomi Johns, an ornithologist with the The Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation, and Chris Sperring MBE, Conservation Officer at the Hawk and Owl Trust.
Visitors will also be able to join guided wildlife walks led by Nick Patel of Wilder Skies, exploring the habitats around Newton St Loe and learning more about the species that call them home.
Two flying displays showcasing British birds of prey will take place during the day, giving visitors the opportunity to see these remarkable birds in action.
Interactive workshops will allow families to get hands-on with conservation activities including dissecting owl and hawk pellets, examining feathers and exploring nest boxes. There will also be stalls from local artists and wildlife organisations.
Throughout the day, attendees will be invited to take part in discussions about how people can help make the UK a better place for wildlife and support the future of native species.
Alice Davidson from The Bird of Prey Project said, “British Bird of Prey Day is a celebration of UK wildlife. It’s an amazing opportunity for nature enthusiasts to get together to share a message of hope for the protection of our native species.”
British Bird of Prey Day takes place at The Bird of Prey Project, The Grain Store, Workshop Lane, Newton St Loe, Bath, BA2 9BT, on Saturday 15 August from 10am to 4pm.
