A new era for tennis at Lansdown Tennis, Squash & Croquet Club in Bath is about to begin with the appointment of experienced coach Tom Osborne as the club’s new Lead Tennis Coach.
Tom joins the club on 10 July from the University of Bath’s nationally recognised Team Bath Tennis Centre, where he led a coaching programme involving more than 460 weekly players and a team of 10 coaches. A Level 4 Senior Performance Coach, qualified referee and LTA Coach Tutor, he also brings international coaching experience gained in America, the Middle East and across Europe.

The appointment marks an exciting step for the club as it looks to expand opportunities for both junior and adult players, with coaching programmes available to members and non-members alike.
Stephanie Bryan, Club Manager at Lansdown Tennis, Squash & Croquet Club, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Tom to the club. He brings with him a wealth of experience and is passionate about the future of tennis at Lansdown.
“He and his team will be central to the club expanding its offering for junior and adult tennis, for both members and non-members, and there are some exciting plans in the pipeline. I look forward to working with Tom and his team to make these happen.”
Tom said, “I’m proud to be joining Lansdown. I’m familiar with the club and it’s an exciting time to be joining. There are some fantastic facilities here and the newly renovated Clubroom, which is at the heart of the club, is a great place to relax and socialise before or after playing. I can’t wait to hit the ground running with my new team and create some innovative social tennis activities, which will positively impact the all-round player experience.”
Junior Summer Camps
Families looking for activities during the summer holidays can take advantage of the club’s Junior Summer Camps for children aged seven to 13, which begin on 20 July. Adult Summer Sessions start on 27 July, with both programmes open to members and non-members.
You can book sessions at mylansdownclub.co.uk/pages/homepage.aspx
Following the summer programme, the club will launch its new September coaching timetable, featuring after-school sessions for primary-aged children, junior coaching, adult squads and beginner-friendly sessions throughout the week.
Lansdown Tennis, Squash & Croquet Club offers 11 floodlit tennis courts, four squash courts and a croquet club, alongside a recently refurbished clubhouse that provides a welcoming space for players and visitors to relax after a game.
With coaching, competitions and a busy calendar of social events, the club hopes the new coaching team will encourage even more people to get involved in tennis.
