SEND families invited to discover Inclusive Wiltshire support

Wiltshire Council is set to approve £4.08m in funding to create new SEND school places, including a 130-place SEMH school and 80 additional specialist places.

Families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are being invited to join a free webinar to learn more about the support, activities and opportunities available through Inclusive Wiltshire.

The online event takes place on Tuesday 30 June at 6pm and will give parents, carers and young people the chance to hear more about the programme, ask questions and find out about the support available across Wiltshire.

Inclusive Wiltshire is a Wiltshire Council initiative that aims to make it easier for children and young people aged 0 to 25 with additional needs and SEND to access activities and services tailored to their individual needs.

The programme brings together a wide range of opportunities and support in one place, helping families find activities that are welcoming, accessible and inclusive.

Jon Hubbard, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for SEND, said, “Inclusive Wiltshire is all about making it easier for children and young people with additional needs and SEND to access activities, build confidence, make friends and enjoy new experiences.

“I would encourage parents and carers to join the webinar, find out more about the programme and ask any questions they may have. We started Inclusive Wiltshire in May and we’re keen to share the latest news and hear people’s feedback on how it’s going so far.

“Whether you’re already familiar with Inclusive Wiltshire or are hearing about it for the first time, the webinar will provide a valuable opportunity to learn about the activities and support available in communities across Wiltshire.”

People wishing to attend can register online and submit questions in advance. A joining link will be sent closer to the event.

The webinar will also be recorded, allowing families who are unable to attend live to watch it afterwards.
