Ella Killbourn introduces fun for families this month at the Little Theatre Cinema in Bath
There’s plenty for families to enjoy at The Little Theatre Cinema this April, with a mix of magical adventures and stunning animation on the big screen.
From 10 April, the much-anticipated Arco arrives, a BAFTA and Academy Award-nominated animated film set to delight fans of visually rich storytelling. Created by a new French animation studio, it’s a must-see for anyone who loves the style and imagination of Studio Ghibli.
The story follows a 10-year-old boy from a peaceful future who accidentally travels back to the year 2075, discovering a world in trouble. As Arco befriends a girl named Iris, the pair set out on a journey to return him home, alongside her robot companion Mikki.
Directed by Ugo Bienvenu, the film features an impressive voice cast including Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera and Andy Samberg, bringing a heartfelt story of friendship, hope and adventure to life.
Families can also catch The Magic Faraway Tree during the Easter break, a nostalgic and imaginative adaptation of Enid Blyton’s much-loved classic.
The film follows Polly, played by Claire Foy, and Tim, played by Andrew Garfield, as they move with their children to the English countryside. As they settle into their new surroundings, the children discover an enchanted tree filled with unforgettable characters including Moonface, Silky and the Saucepan Man.
At the top of the tree, they are transported to ever-changing magical lands, where their adventures help the family reconnect and rediscover what really matters. It’s a warm, whimsical film that celebrates imagination, nature and family life, making it a perfect Easter treat for all ages.
