A Kidligraphy Workshop where writing is fun and inspiring is taking place in Bath on 8 April and 29 May. For children aged 9 to 13, it provides a perfect opportunity for them to switch off their digital tech and get creative with pen and paper.
The four hour Kidligraphy Workshops are run by local mum Sarah from dot the i Atelier (a Bath-based calligraphy and design studio). “In 2016, I fell in love with calligraphy and its artisan charm after ordering a traditional nib and ink kit online and teaching myself,” she recalls. “After a lot of practice, calligraphy became a source of contentment for me, with the slow & intentional dance of the nib across the paper, creating something delicate and timeless.”

Sarah explained that the children taking part in the workshop will will learn the basic techniques of letterforms, calligraphy techniques, brush lettering, faux-calligraphy (how to make letters look like calligraphy but using a pen or pencil instead) and different lettering styles.
“The workshops cost £30 and all materials and a detailed workbook are included so that they can continue getting creative at home and add their lettering to cards, letters, journals, art projects… the list goes on!” she adds. “Plus a soft drink and healthy snack are supplied.”
