Bathampton Primary School pupils have achieved Key Stage 2 SATs results well above national averages in reading, writing and maths.

Bathampton Primary School is celebrating an impressive set of Key Stage 2 SATs results, with pupils achieving well above national averages across reading, writing and mathematics.

A total of 83.7% of pupils reached the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics combined, compared with the national figure of 63%.

Results in individual subjects were also strong, with 96.7% of pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, compared with 75% nationally, while 90% achieved the expected standard in mathematics, against a national average of 75%. In writing, 84% reached the expected standard, compared with 73% nationally.

Headteacher Komilla Datta said, “We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils and all they have achieved. These results are testament to their hard work, the dedication of our staff and the strong partnership we have with our families. Seeing so many children leave us academically successful and well prepared for secondary school is a wonderful achievement.

“At Bathampton, we believe children achieve their best when they are engaged, inspired and happy. Our vision is to provide an education that nurtures both academic success and personal growth, and these outcomes demonstrate what can be achieved when children are given the opportunity to flourish.”

The school says its academic curriculum is complemented by a strong emphasis on enrichment and personal development. Pupils take part in outdoor learning and an Enrichment Week designed to encourage them to explore new interests, embrace challenges and develop confidence, independence and resilience.

Families interested in finding out more about Bathampton Primary can attend an Open Day on Saturday 26 September from 10am-11am. Further school tours are planned for 6, 19 and 30 October.
