Parents and carers of babies and young children across Wiltshire are being invited to share their experiences to help shape the future of early years support and services in the county.

Wiltshire Council has launched a new survey aimed at parents and carers of children aged from birth to five, as well as people who are currently expecting a child.

The council wants to find out more about what local families need, the support they currently use and what is working well, with responses helping to guide how early years services develop in the future.

The survey will form part of Wiltshire Council’s wider Best Start in Life plan and will provide a baseline to help with future planning and decision-making.

It takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete and will remain open until 26 October 2026.

Kate Blackburn, Director of Public Health at Wiltshire Council, said, “We want to hear from as many families as possible. Whether you’re expecting a child or already have young children, your experiences and views will help us understand what matters most to local families and how we can continue to develop services that meet your needs.

“This survey forms part of ongoing work to understand the needs of families with young children across Wiltshire. Feedback gathered will help inform future planning and decision-making and build a clearer picture of the support that families need now and in the future.”

Previous surveys and engagement exercises involving families have helped influence how local services are commissioned and delivered, with the council saying feedback helps ensure services reflect the priorities and experiences of people living in Wiltshire.

Parents and carers are now being encouraged to take part and share their views before the closing date.

The survey can be completed online at https://surveys.wiltshire.gov.uk/s/8yrqv2 and closes on 26 October 2026.
