Bath Christmas Market promises more festive fun for families this Christmas

Bath Christmas Market returns from 26 November with live entertainment, 245 traders, festive treats and new attractions for families.

Families can look forward to more entertainment, festive treats and places to explore when Bath Christmas Market returns this November, with live performances, new attractions and more than 240 traders filling the city centre.

The popular Christmas market runs from Thursday 26 November to Sunday 13 December, with a special residents’ evening taking place on Wednesday 25 November.

Among the new additions for 2026 will be a programme of live music and street performances, bringing even more Christmas atmosphere to a family trip into the city.

There will also be a new cosy indoor space on Stall Street where visitors can take a break from exploring the market, enjoy a drink and warm up before heading back out among the chalets.

For the first time, Christmas Market chalets will extend onto New Bond Street, spreading the festive experience across more of Bath city centre.

Families looking for Christmas presents, stocking fillers and seasonal treats will have plenty to choose from, with 245 traders taking part. Eighty per cent are from the South West, while 61 businesses will be appearing at the market for the first time.

As well as handcrafted gifts, visitors can expect plenty of festive food and drink to enjoy while wandering through the city.

The market attracts around 440,000 visitors each year and organisers are once again putting measures in place to make it as welcoming as possible.

Accessible routes and toilets will be available alongside quiet shopping periods and information for disabled visitors, offering families who may find the busiest periods difficult an alternative way to experience the market.

Sustainability will also remain a focus, with lower-carbon energy sources, recycling facilities, measures to reduce single-use plastics and encouragement for visitors to use reusable cups.

Councillor Manda Rigby, Bath & North East Somerset Council’s cabinet member for Communications and Community, said, “Bath Christmas Market is the local highlight of the festive season and we’re delighted to welcome residents and visitors back for another fantastic year.

“With new entertainment, more chalets and the return of an indoor space, there’s even more to enjoy while supporting talented traders and local businesses.

“Last year the market generated an estimated £50.7m of associated visitor spending for the city and increased business turnover by £64m. It showcases the very best of Bath at Christmas and it’s not long until you can join in the magic!”

Families planning a visit are being encouraged to travel by public transport, walk or cycle where possible. Bath’s Park & Ride services will also provide access to the city centre during the busy Christmas period.
