Creative students from Bath College are exhibiting their work as part of this year’s Fringe Arts Bath festival, following a competition to design the event’s official poster.
Graphic Design student Eowyn was announced as the winner of the poster competition, with their design selected to promote the 2026 exhibition. Their work, alongside creations from other Bath College students, is being displayed in free exhibitions across the city until 6 June.
Fringe Arts Bath is an annual celebration of contemporary visual art that brings together local and international artists through a programme of pop-up exhibitions, installations and events. The festival transforms empty buildings, public spaces and city streets into creative venues, helping to showcase emerging and established artistic talent.
For Bath College students, taking part provides valuable professional experience beyond the classroom while helping them build their portfolios and gain exposure to new audiences.
This year’s theme, Permission to Touch, encourages visitors to interact with the artwork in ways rarely permitted in traditional galleries. In some cases, visitors are even invited to take home elements of the displays.
Arran Hodgson, organiser of Fringe Arts Bath and Art & Design lecturer at Bath College, said, “I’ve organised the Fringe Arts Bath exhibition for 21 years. It’s a grassroots festival where anyone can come – any age or experience level. It’s important to support both established and unestablished artists in Bath.
“Growing up in the city myself, there was always a strong focus on art, and the festival gives students the professional experience beyond the classroom, a form in which they can display their work.”
