Bath Building Society has launched its annual Community Awards, offering £15,000 in funding to local charities and community groups across Bath and North East Somerset.
Now in its 20th year, the awards are a key part of the Society’s commitment to give back 2% of its profits to the local community each year through financial education, volunteering and charitable initiatives.

Since launching, the awards have distributed more than £138,000 to over 150 local charities, community groups, CICs and school PTAs. The funding pot was increased last year to £15,000, more than doubling the amount available in previous years.
Groups can apply for a share of the funding, with grants available at different levels to support a wide range of projects and initiatives across the area.
The available awards include one top grant of £5,000, two grants of £2,500 and five grants of £1,000.

Richard Ingle said, “As a judge for the annual Awards, I’m always blown away by the great work that local charities, community groups and volunteers do in our local community. The Society’s roots in the community are very important to us. We have committed to donate 2% of profits back into the community and are pleased that we were able to increase the funding pot for our annual Awards last year.”
The awards are open to charities, community groups, community interest companies and school PTAs based in Bath and North East Somerset.
Applications are now open, with local organisations encouraged to apply for funding to support projects that make a positive difference to families and communities across the region.
