Families across the region will be able to explore one of the UK’s most iconic historic attractions for just £1, as The Roman Baths introduces a new low-cost ticket scheme for visitors receiving key benefits.
Bath & North East Somerset Council has launched the initiative in time for the Easter holidays, helping ensure more families can experience the site’s 2,000 years of history without cost being a barrier.

The Roman Baths, one of the best-preserved ancient spas in the world, welcomes around a million visitors each year. Visitors can discover the natural thermal spring that made Bath famous, walk through the ancient temple courtyard, and stand beside the iconic Great Bath.
This Easter, there are even more reasons for families to visit. Activities include a themed family trail inspired by eggs, hands-on archaeology sessions, craft activities and late-night openings, offering something for all ages.
The new scheme means UK adults receiving Universal Credit, Pension Credit or Employment Support Allowance (ESA) can visit for £1. Each eligible adult can bring up to four children aged 6–18 for £1 each, while children under six continue to go free. Carers accompanying an eligible visitor will also receive free entry.

Families living locally can still take advantage of the Discovery Card scheme, which offers free entry for Bath & North East Somerset residents.
The £1 ticket initiative is part of the council’s wider commitment to making culture and heritage more accessible, particularly as many families continue to feel the impact of rising living costs. The aim is to help more people discover – or rediscover – one of the UK’s most remarkable historic sites.
An allocation of £1 tickets will be available throughout the year, across all time slots, and can be booked in advance online or by phone.
