Wiltshire locals go the extra mile for vulnerable young lives

Walkers and runners will tackle Wiltshire’s iconic hills on 13 June to raise funds for the Youth Adventure Trust supporting vulnerable young people.

Walkers and runners from across Wiltshire and Somerset are set to take on one of the county’s most scenic endurance challenges this summer – all to support vulnerable young people.

The Wiltshire 3 Peaks Challenge, organised by the Youth Adventure Trust, returns on Saturday 13 June 2026, inviting participants to tackle Wiltshire’s iconic hills while raising funds to help transform young lives through outdoor adventure.

2025 Participants eager and ready to start the challenge

Starting in Oare in the Pewsey Vale, the event offers three routes – 10km, half marathon and marathon – giving runners and walkers of all abilities the chance to get involved while exploring the county’s rolling landscapes.

Now in its fourth year, the challenge has become a popular fixture on the local calendar, attracting families, friends and businesses who want to test their resilience while supporting a meaningful cause.

The funds raised help the Youth Adventure Trust deliver its long-term outdoor adventure programmes for 11–16-year-olds facing challenges in their lives, providing experiences that build confidence, resilience and a stronger sense of self-belief.

The 2026 event is supported by local firm Beard Construction, meaning every pound raised through entry fees and fundraising goes directly towards supporting young people on the charity’s programmes.

Participants from previous years have praised the event’s atmosphere and organisation, describing it as ‘a wonderful challenge, wonderful people and for a wonderful cause’.

Mark Davey, Chief Executive at the Youth Adventure Trust, said, “As a charity rooted in the outdoors, we are delighted to be bringing this event back in 2026. It’s a great opportunity for people to challenge themselves, explore their local area and support young people in their community.”

With registrations already building momentum, organisers expect the 2026 challenge to be the biggest yet.

Those inspired to take part can join hundreds of others for a memorable day in the Wiltshire countryside while helping to transform a young person’s future.
