The annual event celebrates the arrival of spring and offers visitors the chance to explore the popular community farm, enjoy its produce and learn more about nature, wildlife and sustainable growing.

Activities for the whole family

There will be plenty to keep children and adults entertained throughout the day.

Families can take part in an egg hunt, browse the plant sale, pick up farm produce and explore a variety of craft stalls. Younger visitors can enjoy face painting and animal feeding, while delicious food and drinks will be available from the Roots To Work Café.

Live entertainment will also bring a lively atmosphere to the farm, including sea shanties from the High & Dry Shanty Group between 12pm and 1pm.

Hands-on farm experiences

New for this year’s event is the chance to take part in goat grooming sessions with the farm’s friendly resident goats.

Visitors aged six and over can step inside the goat enclosure to brush and fuss the much-loved animals. Spaces are limited and advance booking is required.

Spring is also an exciting time on the farm, and there may even be some new lambs for visitors to meet.

Nature walks and workshops

The Spring Fayre will also offer a range of informative activities for visitors who want to learn more about the natural world and sustainable growing.

Expert entomologist Mike Williams will lead guided nature walks around the farm’s fields and hedgerows, helping visitors discover the wildlife that lives on the site.

There will also be a composting workshop led by the farm’s growing team, explaining how food waste, weeds and plant material are transformed into nutrient-rich compost used across the farm’s market garden and polytunnels.

Visitors can also join a behind-the-scenes growing tour to explore the farm’s polytunnels, café garden and food-growing spaces, while learning about plans to expand the production of fresh produce for the local community.

Some of the talks, tours and experiences require advance booking due to limited spaces.

A celebration of spring

The Spring Fayre offers a wonderful opportunity for families to spend time outdoors, meet the animals and discover more about how the farm connects people with nature, food and sustainable growing.

With free entry and plenty of activities included, it promises to be a fun and relaxed day out for local families.
