Bath-based charity Share and Repair is running a programme of hands-on events this February, helping local residents build practical skills while reducing waste and supporting people in need.
The events focus on boosting confidence with sewing machines and encouraging families to donate unused technology through a special Tech Amnesty.
Organisers say the workshops are open to beginners and more experienced sewers, with friendly tutors on hand to guide people through projects in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Beginner sewing workshop

A session for those new to sewing machines, or anyone wanting to improve their confidence with the basics.
Participants will learn how to wind a bobbin, thread their machine, understand different stitches and tackle simple problems.
The workshop takes place on Saturday 7 February from 10.00am to 12.30pm at Southdown Methodist Church Centre, The Hollow, Bath BA2 1NJ.
Beyond the basics: sewing with confidence

For those who already know how to use a sewing machine but feel unsure when starting projects, this workshop offers guided support from experienced tutors.
The sessions run alongside local Repair Cafes, allowing people to bring their own machines and build confidence in a practical setting.
The Bathford workshop takes place on Saturday 7 February from 10.00am to 12.30pm at Bathford Parish Hall, Church Street, Bathford BA1 7TU.
A second session is being held in Farmborough on Saturday 14 February from 10.00am to 12.30pm at Farmborough Memorial Hall, Little Lane, Farmborough BA2 0AH.
Tech Amnesty

Families are also being encouraged to donate unwanted technology sitting unused at home.
Share and Repair is working with Donate IT to collect devices at High Littleton Repair Cafe. All donated tech will have its data securely wiped before being given to people experiencing digital poverty. Any items that cannot be reused will be recycled responsibly.
The Tech Amnesty takes place on Saturday 7 February from 10.00am to 1.00pm at the Scout Hall, High Street, High Littleton, BS39 6JD.
Share and Repair says the February events aim to give people practical skills, cut down on waste and help support others in the community.
