Pupils from St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School, part of the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust, have been taking kindness to new heights with a challenge set for this year’s Children in Need.
The Midsomer Norton school invited children to complete 25 acts of kindness, and since then they have been putting smiles on faces at school, at home and out in the community. From making charity donations and creating uplifting kindness posters to holding doors open and helping to put the shopping away, the pupils have been spreading joy wherever they go.

They have been sharing hugs, compliments and handmade gifts, watering plants and making new friends, all as part of the school’s mission to help children grow into happy, confident and empathetic individuals.
St Benedict’s has now held its first ‘Acts of Kindness Celebration’, where pupils who completed the challenge were recognised with certificates and plenty of praise.
Ellen Croker, headteacher at St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School, said, “We are so proud of our pupils for embracing the ‘Acts of Kindness’ challenge. Seeing them take small actions that make a big difference in our school and wider community has been truly heartwarming.”
Helen Taylor, CEO of the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust, added, “At the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust, we are committed to nurturing not just academic success but compassionate, community-minded young people. This celebration of kindness is a wonderful example of that mission in action.”
