The Youth Adventure Trust is celebrating an outstanding year of community support, with 170 fundraisers raising an impressive £22,000 to help vulnerable 11-16 year olds across Wiltshire and Somerset. Their efforts will support long-term outdoor adventure programmes that help young people build confidence, resilience and life skills.
Throughout 2025, participants took on the Wiltshire 3 Peaks Challenge, the Somerset Cycle and the Summit Under Stars night hike. Each event offered a tough test of stamina while raising vital funds for young people who benefit from the charity’s one-to-one support and outdoor activities.

The challenges included a 10km or half marathon route across Wiltshire’s iconic hills, a 40km, 60km or 100km cycle through the Quantocks, and a night-time ascent of Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons.
A young person from the YAT Adventure Programme said, “I’ve just had an amazing time. I’d recommend it to as many people as I can and I really want to thank the people that fund it for us, thank you.”

Louise Balaam, Director of Fundraising and Engagement at the Youth Adventure Trust, added, “We’re delighted that so many people have chosen to take on a Youth Adventure Challenge this year. We help young people challenge themselves to achieve more than they think they can and it’s fantastic that the community has embraced that idea to raise much needed funds for the charity.”
The Youth Adventure Trust is now inviting supporters to take on their own adventure in 2026. Anyone interested in making a difference can register their interest and be part of next year’s challenge line-up.
