Christmas is set to sparkle once again at Avebury this winter, as the National Trust welcomes visitors back to Avebury Manor for the first time since January. From Saturday 29 November until Sunday 4 January, the historic house and gardens will be transformed with beautiful decorations, lights, and festive memories.
Families can wander through the manor’s rooms dressed for the season, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and take part in a range of seasonal activities designed to capture the magic of Christmas.

Among the highlights is Story Time with St Nicholas (6–7, 13–14, and 20–21 December), where children can meet St Nicholas under the twinkling lights of the historic dovecote, hear enchanting festive tales, and receive a special gift to take home.
For younger visitors, the Hollytail Hares Trail (29 November–4 January, 10am–4pm) offers a fun way to explore the gardens. A group of magical hares are hiding among the winter greenery, each with a Christmas message to discover.

The celebrations also include a festive Christmas Market on 6 and 7 December in the 17th-century threshing barn, where visitors can browse handmade gifts, crafts, and local produce, accompanied by carols and live music.
Avebury Manor will be open daily from 11am–4pm (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
