Trowbridge Rugby Football Club has received a £2,000 donation from Persimmon Homes Wessex to help continue its work encouraging players of all ages to enjoy the sport. The donation comes through Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme, which supports charities and grassroots organisations across the region.
Based at Doric Park in Hilperton, the club fields senior men’s and women’s teams as well as more than a dozen junior sides. It also hosts community events such as TrowFest and provides facilities for other local groups, including running and bridge clubs.
Club President Chris Lamb said, “The club is a very popular venue here in Trowbridge and Hilperton, so it is crucial for us to offer excellent facilities for both playing and watching rugby.
“We are proud to provide a welcoming space where families and friends can come together safely and have fun. Support like this really helps us to keep building on that ambition.”
Persimmon’s contribution will go towards ensuring the club can continue offering rugby as a sport for all ages and maintaining its role as a hub for the wider community.
