Bath and North East Somerset Council has revealed a packed calendar of family-friendly events for the autumn and winter, following a sensational summer that welcomed over 190,000 visitors to 25 events across the district.
Summer highlights included the Robbie Williams concerts at the Royal Crescent, the lively Keynsham Music Festival, and the Bath Rugby Victory Parade – but there’s no sign of slowing down. Families can now look forward to even more exciting activities in the months ahead.

Families can look forward to the Jane Austen Festival in September, celebrating the author’s 250th birthday. Children and adults alike can enjoy Regency-themed activities, and lucky winners of a special Bath & North East Somerset Council competition will experience a real Regency-style wedding ceremony.

October brings foodie delights and entertainment for all ages with the Bath Autumn Fayre (October 3–5), featuring street food, live performances, and artisan stalls. Later in the month, Bath Oktoberfest (October 24–26) offers a lively twist with Oompah bands, traditional karaoke, and even axe-throwing – fun for older kids and teens.
The magic continues on November 10 with the Midsomer Norton Illuminated Carnival, a glittering evening parade where families can marvel at giant 30-metre-long floats covered in lights.

As winter approaches, the festive spirit takes centre stage. The Bath Christmas Market (November 27–December 14) will transform the city centre into a sparkling wonderland of twinkling chalets, unique gifts, and delicious seasonal treats – a perfect outing for families. Last year, the market welcomed 444,000 visitors and supported hundreds of local jobs.
Meanwhile, the Keynsham Winter Festival on November 29 promises a cheerful high street packed with market stalls, local entertainers, and free activities for children.
B&NES Council continues to support event organisers with guidance on planning, licensing, and permissions, helping ensure events are safe, fun, and accessible for families.
