Celebrating outstanding academic achievement at Springmead School

Springmead

Springmead School in Frome is celebrating exceptional results in recent external assessments, with pupils achieving some of the highest outcomes.

“Our GL Assessment,  widely respected for their robust standards and national benchmarking results,  provide a clear, objective measure of pupil progress in core areas such as English and Maths offering a meaningful snapshot of our pupil attainment,” explained Shirley Offer, Deputy Headteacher and Head of Early Years.

“These results have exceeded national averages across the board. This data includes children with recognised learning challenges.

  • 95% of our whole school achieved average or above average results in English and 90% in Maths in their GL Assessments (Standard Age Scores of 90 – 110)
  • The percentage of our children achieving an age standardised score over 110, so above average, in English is 51%, and in Maths is 54%

“This academic achievement at Springmead School goes hand in hand with a rich co-curricular program that supports pupil’s broader development. While we celebrate strong test results, we also recognise that true success involves much more than academic performance alone. Opportunities in sport, the arts, leadership and service help build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging, contributing significantly to academic motivation and wellbeing. Academic excellence and holistic development are not competing goals, they are mutually reinforcing, and both are essential to a meaningful education.

“These results affirm that Springmead is a place where every pupil is challenged, supported and inspired to succeed.”
