Grove Primary School councillors enjoy a tour of new classrooms

Grove Primary School

The Grove Primary School in Trowbridge has held a Building Progress Walk Around for its school Councillors to see inside their new Resource Base Building, which is due to officially open in September.

The six-classroom build includes two classrooms that comprise a dedicated Resource Base for children with special educational needs. This specifically relates to children with communication and interaction needs. These two classrooms will operate alongside the mainstream school.

With all of the external works nearing completion, including the windows and doors currently being installed, the coming weeks will see the rooms decorated, land surrounding the new build will be resurfaced and the school’s field being returned to normal.

In addition, the school’s existing mobile classrooms will be removed over the summer holidays to free up space for outside play and a carpark extension of six spaces.

The handover of the building will take place on 11 July 2025, allowing a couple of weeks to install ICT equipment and to furnish all of the classes ready for the new academic year in September 2025. Where possible, items from the the former classrooms will re-used, alongside the addition of new items where they are needed, such as tables and chairs for the pupils and interactive teaching screens.
