Dave Goucher, Executive Headteacher and Jeff Seatter, Head of School, said, “Our local community infant school has been recognised for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils thrive both academically and personally. The recent inspection highlighted the strong sense of belonging among pupils and the school’s commitment to fostering character, confidence and responsibility from an early age.”
The school’s motto, together we learn, is brought to life through a well-designed curriculum and vibrant enrichment activities – from role-playing careers to historical immersion days, community visits and memorable trips out. Pupils enjoy a broad range of clubs and take pride in contributing to school life. These tangible opportunities help pupils to remember their learning well over time.
Academically, the school sets high expectations and provides tailored support, ensuring pupils make strong progress. Reading is a top priority, with engaging spaces like ‘reading lofts’ and thematic corners promoting a love for books.
Pupils with SEND receive swift, effective support, enabling them to succeed alongside their peers. All children play wheelchair basketball and through this the children learn empathy, inclusivity and equal opportunities for all, therefore understanding that all children have a voice.
