A special Sing For Childhood concert is set to take place at Hayesfield Girls School in Bath to help raise funds for the NSPCC.
Bath Community Gospel Choir will be the headline performers at the concert which takes place on Friday, June 13 at the Roper Theatre, Hayesfield Girls School. Along with the community choir, there will also be performances by Hayesfield Girls School Junior and Senior Choirs, and Viva Vocals Ladies Choir.

This uplifting evening of music aims to bring the community together while raising vital funds to support the NSPCC’s work in protecting children and providing essential services for families. The event has been organised by a team of dedicated volunteers who want to raise awareness about the NSPCC and help raise money for the children’s charity.
Money raised from the event will help to fund services such as the Schools Service which provides the NSPCC’s Speak out, Stay safe programme through assemblies and workshops in schools. In 2023/24 more than 20,800 children in 96 schools across Somerset took part in Speak out, Stay safe which is designed to teach children, in an age-appropriate way, how to recognise abuse and where they can go for help if they need it.
Marketing Volunteer, Runi, explained, “I chose to volunteer for the NSPCC Sing for Childhood event because it’s a fantastic way to give back while also gaining valuable experience. Knowing that my efforts are helping to create a safer, happier childhood for kids makes it even more rewarding. Plus, there’s nothing better than seeing a community come together for a great cause.”

Viva Vocals director, John, said, “Our strapline of ‘Sing Yourself Happy’ is very relevant for this concert. Singing can bring so much pleasure to adults and children alike and lift your mood when you are feeling down or troubled.
“Most of the Viva Vocals ladies are mums who would place their children’s needs above their own and would, I’m sure, be delighted to support a fundraising event where the focus of attention is on those poor children who are not in such fortunate situations.”
Emma Hildesley, NSPCC Community Fundraising Manager for Bath, added, “We are delighted that choirs from around Bath are set to unite and Sing For Childhood at a concert to help raise funds for the NSPCC. This promises to be a really special event and we are looking forward to it.”
Sing For Childhood takes place on Friday, 13 June with doors opening at 6.30pm and the show set to start at 7pm. Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s.
