Community groups in Bath can apply for Family Learning Fund

Community groups in Bath can apply for grants of up to £1,000 to deliver family learning projects that help adults and children learn new skills together.

Community groups across Bath are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to £1,000 to help families learn new skills, build confidence and spend quality time together.

The new Family Learning Fund has been launched by SNG, one of England’s largest housing associations, to support projects that bring adults and children together through shared learning experiences.

Grants of between £300 and £1,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations delivering activities that help families develop new skills while strengthening relationships and supporting community wellbeing.

Projects could include cooking sessions, arts and crafts workshops, literacy and numeracy activities, life skills programmes or other learning opportunities designed for families to enjoy together.

The fund aims to support initiatives that create a lasting positive impact within local neighbourhoods, helping communities become stronger, more connected and more resilient.

Applications are open to a wide range of organisations in Bath, including charities, community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises, provided they have suitable governance arrangements in place. Applicants will need to demonstrate how their project will benefit families and the wider local community.

Erica Watts, Head of Employment, Skills and Inclusion at SNG, said, “We’re proud to launch the Family Learning Fund to support projects that help families learn and grow together. By creating opportunities for shared learning, we can strengthen confidence, build relationships and support communities to thrive.

“We’re particularly keen to hear from organisations in Bath who are already making a positive difference locally and can help us reach more families.”

Applications are now open and will close on Friday 31 July 2026. Successful organisations are expected to be notified in early September.

Applications must be submitted through the ActionFunder platform at app.actionfunder.org/fund/1022
