A Bath mum is preparing to take on an extraordinary endurance challenge this May – running a full triple marathon while performing comedy sets at pubs and breweries along the route.
Klaire Alexander will cover an incredible 78.6 miles on 23 May in aid of the Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance, the service she credits with saving her life. Her challenge, dubbed Klaire’s Triple Marathon, will loop across three counties and include stops at 12 venues, where she’ll perform five-minute comedy sets at each one.
Klaire said, “At least I’ll win this event… it’s only me!”
The ambitious fundraiser has a deeply personal motivation. Klaire is aiming to raise £14,000 – the amount it costs to keep the air ambulance operational for a single day.
She said, “It feels like the least I can do to say thank you for the day they saved me.”
The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity relies entirely on public donations to operate, providing critical care across the region when every second counts.
Calling all Bath businesses
Klaire is now calling on Bath businesses to get behind her challenge, both to help reach her fundraising target and to raise awareness of the charity’s vital work.
She is offering local companies the chance to sponsor her run, suggesting a £140 contribution – representing 1% of her overall target – in return for promotion across her social media channels and their logo featured on her race-day T-shirt.
With training well underway and plans taking shape, Klaire’s challenge promises to be as entertaining as it is inspiring, combining endurance, humour and community spirit in one unforgettable event.
She added, “There are only so many times I can ask friends and family to dip into their pockets… I’m an expensive person to know!”
As the countdown to 23 May begins, Klaire hopes her unique approach will not only raise vital funds, but also bring people together in support of a life-saving cause.
