A much-loved Bath favourite is returning this winter in a brand-new production – Snow Mice!, a magical seasonal adventure full of live music, puppetry and heart.

After delighting audiences around the world for over a decade, Snow Mouse returns to Bath’s Egg Theatre in this enchanting follow-up created by The Egg and New International Encounter (NIE). The show runs in the Main Auditorium from Thursday 20 November 2025 to Sunday 11 January 2026, and is perfect for children aged 3–9 and their families.

Snow Mice! follows three children at the start of the winter holidays as they arrive in a new house full of mysteries. When the youngest is woken one night by the appearance of a magical Snow Mouse, a snowy adventure begins – one that takes them all to the top of a hill and into a world of imagination where Snow Mice really do exist.

Director Alex Byrne explained, “The original Snow Mouse is such a lovely show and well loved by audiences in Bath, so it’s a big responsibility to make a bigger version for a slightly older age group. We’ve tried to keep hold of what was magical about the original and take the story a little further and a little deeper into the snowy landscape. It’s a great challenge and we can’t wait to share Christmas with new audiences in Bath.”

Created 12 years ago by The Egg and Travelling Light, the Snow Mouse puppet – designed by Marc Parrett and Edwina Bridgman – has become a local legend, introducing more than 45,000 children to theatre through its gentle story of adventure and friendship.

This new production features original live music performed with cello and guitar, along with live sound effects and expressive puppetry. The creative team includes writers Alex Byrne, Kate Cross and Georgia Casimir, design by Zoe Squire, and music by Greg Hall.

Snow Mice! is sponsored by King Edward’s School, Bath, a school committed to nurturing creativity and young talent across drama and music.

Also at The Egg this festive season is Aurora, a sparkling sensory show for ages 6 months to 3 years, created by the award-winning Filskit Theatre. Running in The Roper Room from Friday 28 November 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026, Aurora promises beautiful lights, playful performance, original music and Makaton woven throughout – a perfect first theatre experience for little ones.
