Debbie Buskin and her daughters enjoy a sunny day of circus skills and song and dance
What a fabulous day! The warm and bright summer’s glow was provided by mother earth, alongside a full montage show filled with goofy acrobatic stunts, music and singing presented by the Farm Yard Circus.
Located at Beckford’s Tower on the picturesque rolling green landscape of Lansdown in Bath, a fun-filled family day was provided, courtesy of the Bath Preservation Trust.
On offer were workshops for the kids (big and small) to try their hand at a range of activities from hula hooping, plate spinning and juggling, to other balancing skills and fun tricks. The atmosphere was relaxed and the show and music performances upbeat and entertaining.
Food and drink stands provided sustenance, while the ice cream van and sweet stand offered irresistible treats!
One of our favourite parts of the day had to be the giant bubble making, as loads of kids surrounded the chap coaxing out enormous bubbles from the rope apparatus he used to create the floating magical spheres that reflected pretty rainbows before they popped and disappeared before your eyes.
Nearly the whole of the field of visitors to the event queued up to have a go at the Welly Launching. With wheelbarrows strategically positioned, here was a chance to earn a prize for collecting the most points depending on the success of your welly boot throwing skills. There were extra points for those who launched the boots with their back to the wheelbarrow and still showing a successful aim!
The day rounded off with an audience participation variety show, where anyone confident enough to amaze the audience with their skills could provide some of the entertainment in return for a bit of spectator’s appreciation. This was followed by more music played by the band before the event drew to a close.
Definitely a fun day and show worth catching at one of Bath’s most magical settings. While The Farm Yard Circus will be appearing at a few other local area events while touring the country, there is always a wonderful selection of great events to enjoy at Beckford’s Tower.
