Trowbridge Rugby Club is preparing to make history this summer when it hosts its first women’s 10s rugby tournament on Saturday 18 July 2026.
The inaugural tournament will welcome teams from across the region for a day of fast-paced rugby, community spirit and family entertainment, with matches getting underway at 10.30am.
Spectators are invited to enjoy a full day at the club, with food and drink available throughout, a friendly atmosphere for all ages and free entry. There will also be ample free parking available on site.

The tournament comes at an exciting time for women’s rugby, with the sport continuing to enjoy significant growth in participation, profile and support. Recent Guinness Women’s Six Nations campaigns have attracted record audiences and helped bring the women’s game to a wider public than ever before.
A spokesperson for Trowbridge RFC Women said, “Women’s rugby has never been in a stronger position, and we’re incredibly proud to be playing our part in its continued growth. Hosting our first Women’s 10s Tournament is a huge milestone for the club and an opportunity to showcase everything that’s great about the game – the competition, the camaraderie and the welcoming community that surrounds it.
“We’re passionate about making rugby accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a lifelong supporter, completely new to the sport, or simply looking for a great family day out, we’d love to welcome you to the club. Come along, enjoy some fantastic rugby, stay for the live music and experience everything Trowbridge RFC has to offer.”
The tournament also reflects the continued development of Trowbridge RFC’s own women’s section, which has gone from strength to strength in recent seasons.
The club is encouraging anyone interested in giving rugby a try to join its senior women’s team, with pre-season training taking place every Wednesday at 7pm.
No previous rugby experience is needed and sessions are led by RFU-qualified coaches in a friendly, supportive and inclusive environment. Beginners are very welcome, with plenty of help and encouragement available.
Anyone interested can simply turn up on a Wednesday evening or email email hidden; JavaScript is required for more information.

Following the tournament, the club will host free live music from popular local party band The Relayz, who have also performed at The Rec on Bath Rugby match days.
With competitive rugby, a welcoming community atmosphere, food and drink throughout the day and live music to finish the evening, Trowbridge RFC is looking forward to welcoming players, supporters and visitors from across Wiltshire and beyond.
The club hopes the tournament will become a regular highlight of the local sporting calendar.
