Families across Bath and Wiltshire are being encouraged to rally the men in their lives as Dorothy House Hospice brings back its much-loved Men’s Walk to Support for 2026.
Taking place on Saturday 14 March 2026, the event is designed to get dads, sons, uncles, grandads and friends walking together, raising vital funds for local end-of-life care while creating a safe, supportive space for men to talk about grief, loss and life.

The main walk is an eight-mile route for men aged 8+, starting from Dorothy House in Winsley and finishing at Bath Pavilion. Walkers can take part solo or as a group, making it an ideal challenge to share with family or friends.
New for 2026, and marking the Hospice’s 50th anniversary, there is also a tougher 25-mile route starting at The Bridge Inn in Devizes. This longer challenge sets off at 7am and joins the eight-mile route along the Kennet and Avon Canal, with everyone finishing together in Bath.

The finish line is perfectly timed for a relaxed end to the day, with walkers rewarded with a free pint and food at Bath Pavilion, just in time to catch the Six Nations action.
The walk is about far more than fitness. Last year, only 26% of people accessing Dorothy House’s bereavement support services were men. Research shows 80% of men feel alone in their grief, with 52% admitting they bottle up how they feel.

By walking together, the Men’s Walk to Support aims to make a real difference, helping men feel less isolated while supporting a charity that many local families rely on.
Entry costs £28, with all participants receiving a free event t-shirt, plus their drink and food at the finish. Walkers are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship as they can, after last year’s event raised an incredible £115,000.
Dorothy House provides free care, comfort and compassion to people in the last 1,000 days of their lives, supporting families across the region thanks to community fundraising and events like this.
