Avonvale RFC is putting the heart back into community sport, offering opportunities for every member of the family to get involved, both on and off the pitch.
Based in the village of Bathford, the club provides rugby for men, women, minis and juniors, with a warm welcome extended to newcomers of all ages and abilities. Whether a seasoned player or someone picking up a rugby ball for the first time, Avonvale has a place for everyone.
The senior men’s side competes in Counties 3 Tribute Ale Dorset & Wilts Central, while the women’s team enjoys a busy calendar of friendly fixtures.
For younger players, Avonvale runs thriving minis and juniors sessions for children from Under 6s to Under 14s, training and playing every Sunday from 10am.
What sets Avonvale apart is its strong family-friendly ethos. Alongside high-quality coaching and competitive rugby, the club boasts a lively social calendar. From festive favourites such as Santa’s Grotto and the Easter Eggs-travaganza, to quiz nights, family games evenings, auction nights, club dinners and end-of-season celebrations, there is always something to bring members and the wider community together.
Importantly, Avonvale is not just for players. Social members are a vital part of the club, enjoying the camaraderie, events and activities that make Avonvale a true community hub. The clubhouse is also available for local groups and private hire, hosting everything from yoga classes to charity events and parties.
Avonvale RFC continues to grow as a welcoming and inclusive club that brings people together, whatever their connection to rugby.
