Local charity Share and Repair is on a mission to ‘Get Bath Borrowing’ this April through its fundraising campaign with the Green Big Give.
Share and Repair, based in George Street, Bath, currently offers a Library of Things loaning out stuff (not books) to the B&NES community and runs repair sessions from the shop and pop up Repair Cafes across the area on a pay what you can basis to help the local community to ‘borrow not buy’ and ‘mend it not end it’.
This helps save the local community money and also to reduce the number of new items being bought or old items being disposed of.

The Green Big Give runs from 22-29 April 2025 and coincides with Share and Repair’s 8th birthday on 22 April. Donations given during that time will be match funded. Share and Repair plan to use the money raised to launch a new partnership with Mulberry Park Hub in Combe Down, which will feature a new Repair Cafe and their first Library lockers, allowing locals in the south of Bath to more easily borrow popular items from the library such as jet washers, hedge trimmers, bunting and drills!
Ruth Lambert, CEO of Share and Repair, said, “We are really excited to be launching the first Library of Things lockers in the South West in partnership with Mulberry Park Hub. We are keen to bring the chance to borrow household items at very accessible rates to the Combe Down area as it will save people money and help the environment by reducing the need to buy infrequently used stuff.”
If you’d like to support this campaign to #GetBathBorrowing, why not run a bake sale that week and donate the proceeds to this great cause?
Alternatively donations can simply be made online via this link https://bit.ly/41Czjq1.
Local businesses are also being encouraged to sponsor individual lockers to help support their local community. Find out more on their website https://shareandrepair.org.uk/green-match-fund-week/ .
