Pupils at Moorlands Schools Federation in Bath were welcomed back to school this September by a familiar face, with former Deputy Headteacher Katy Pearson taking up the role of Executive Headteacher for Moorlands Infant and Junior Schools.
Katy has been a senior leader at Moorlands for the past seven years and succeeds former Executive Headteacher Louisa Sellars, who has moved on after five years at the school. During that time, Louisa, Katy and the wider Senior Leadership Team helped secure strong ‘Good’ judgements for both Moorlands Infant School and Moorlands Junior School in their most recent Ofsted inspections in 2023.
Katy said, “It has been a privilege to work as part of the leadership team at Moorlands for the past seven years and to see the strength of the staff team, quality of education and the support of the community develop to create the wonderful school we have today. I am committed to continuing the progress we have made as a team over my time here and am delighted to have the opportunity to do this in the role of Executive Headteacher.”
Moorlands Schools Federation is a member of The Partnership Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust comprising 17 schools across Bath & North East Somerset and Somerset.
Emily Massey, CEO of The Partnership Trust said, “The appointment of Katy Pearson as Executive Headteacher at Moorlands is excellent news for the school. As a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team, she has played an important role in supporting the school’s development and success. Her appointment provides both continuity and a familiar, friendly presence for pupils, staff and the wider school community.”
